Japan and the US have just signed a agreement that brings Japan into an important – and growing – safety effort. Japan becomes the first Asian partner in the FAA’s International Aviation Safety Data Exchange program, which allows countries to share ramp safety data. The U.S., Canada, Australia, and Panama are already sharing data under this program. FAA expects five more countries to join within the next year.
