  • DOT Significant Rulemakings Update
Posted by Sean Broderick 2:16 PM on Jun 05, 2013

It's been a while since the last check-in on DOT's progress on significant rulemakings, so here goes.

DOT's May report revealed schedule adjustments on two key MRO-related efforts.

The draft rule on drug testing of certain foreign repair station employees is now projected to hit the streets late this month, pushed back from late last month.

FAA's projected publication date for a final rule on SMS for Part 121s slipped from early September 2013 to early October 2013.

More details on the most MRO-related rules are below. The full May report, featuring updates on 119 DOT rulemakings--24 on FAA's plate--is available here (.doc).
