  • IATA AGM Moving To Singapore From Cairo
Posted by Frank Jackman 2:34 PM on Mar 01, 2011

IATA is confirming today what my colleague Jens Flottau reported yesterday on the Aviation Week Intelligence Network (AWIN): the IATA annual general meeting, planned for early June in Cairo, is being moved to Singapore. While the decision to move the AGM is understandable and not unexpected, given the recent political upheaval in Egypt and the prospect of civil war in Libya, it is unfortunate. Egypt has a a long aviation history and the people at Egyptair are intent on operating a world-class airline.
