Congratulations to Kevin Larson, VP and chief information officer for AAR, who is one of the top CIOs for 2012, according to ExecRank, which evaluates and ranks CIOs across industries.

Kevin, who has spoken at Aviation Week’s MRO IT Forums, is featured in the top 150 list (out of 38,000 CIOs that we evaluated).

ExecRank supposedly uses 24 criteria, including managing people, resources and budgets—as well as speaking engagements and participating on boards.

In a press release, AAR stated, “Larson, who has 30 years of information technology experience, joins a distinguished list of CIOs being honored by ExecRank for 2012, including Thaddeous Arroyo, AT&T; Kim Hammonds, Boeing; and Dave Weick, McDonald’s. Under his direction, AAR has gained a competitive technological edge, especially in the company’s MRO and supply chain operations.”

There’s been a lot of talk about the best ways to use data in MRO. It’s nice to see this recognition for Kevin outside of the industry.
