Today's aviation technicians and engineers--and C-level managers--are mobile, which can make it difficult to retain them at MROs, airlines and suppliers here in the Middle East. The region has often turned to countries such as India, Indonesia and Malaysia for talent, but that talent can easily leave. Today's workforce and training seminar here at Aviation Week's MRO Middle East tackled topics such as these. Here are a couple of tips I learned:1. Make your training program part of your company's continuous improvement program.2. Develop local, sustainable training.3. Be willing to invest in your people and make their development, and retention, part of your company's increased productivity and financial plan.
