The rulemaking advisory committee (ARC) tasked with recommending ways to help FAA's Flight Standards (AFS) and Aircraft Certification (AIR) services interpret regulations more consistently is looking for industry input. The committee has created an online survey to solicit input on AFS and AIR processes. Survey responses will be accepted through September 25. On September 7, the ARC will host a free webinar to update industry on its progress. Registration for the webinar can be done online at this link. The ARC was created per a congressional mandate included in the most recent FAA reauthorization bill. The ARC's report, including recommendations, is due to FAA by yearend. The agency then must update Congress by February 15, 2013, on its efforts to improve its consistency in interpreting its regulations.
