I have been quick to criticize those carriers who, in recent months, have withdrawn from or otherwise halted participation in Aviation Safety Action Programs, so I wanted to be just as quick to praise Delta for reinstating its program. Reinstating the program covering pre-merger Delta pilots -- pre-merger Northwest pilots are covered under a different program -- is proof that safety is the number priority at Delta. The airline also has formal ASAP programs in place for its dispatchers and TechOps employees, and has other safety reporting programs for flight attendants and ground employees. Now if we can just get US Airways and American to come around ...
