Don't expect to see SR Technics and ADAT to invest in mature products. James Stewart, group CEO of Mubadala Aerospace MRO Network, told me here at MRO Europe that the group is poised to invest in technology for fleets that are still growing, but he’d prefer to partner if an investment is needed for older platforms. Stewart says the group “is doing very well in the market” and “is positioned to take advantage when an opportunity comes up.” He stresses global and scale as two things he’s looking for, adding “I’m comfortable where we are in MENA (Middle East North Africa) and Europe.” I asked if Mubadala looked at pieces of bankrupt Aveos, but he wouldn’t comment on that one. He predicts further consolidation in the MRO market. “Just look at what’s happening with airlines.”
