    Airline engine maintenance executives who spoke on a panel here at the Engine MRO Forum provided a lot of frank, insightful comments--but a couple really stuck out to me:

    1. Vendors, both small and large, provide inconsistent quality. As one panelist said, when you find simple things like faulty safety wiring on the outside of an engine, what problems are inside of it?

    2. Vendors are not being creative enough in the services they're offering and in the contracts they're writing. The words "creative" and "nimble" were used several times. So engine MRO vendors, are you being creative and nimble is what you're offering airlines?

    3. Material solutions: why is it what you need isn't available?
