If you ever doubted the global interaction of our industry, here are a couple pieces of news that landed in my email that will affirm the connection: 1. Qatar-based Rizon Jet received maintenance approval from the Bermuda Department of Civil Aviation for its facilities at Doha International and London Biggin Hill Airports. Rizon Jet, which offers private aviation services, specializes in Bombardier and Hawker aircraft, although it manages an Airbus A319 and operates two helicopters. Rizon Jet's facilities are EASA Part 145 compliant. 2. Eurocopter opened its first service center in Peru, in the city of Ayacucho. Eurocopter says there are 50 of its helicopters in service in the region. 3. Metrojet in Hong Kong added Dept. of Civil Aviation Thailand to its list of maintenance approvals. Others include U.S., Bermuda, Cayman, Isle of Man, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Canada and Taiwan.
