Today there was a lot of talk at the MRO Europe Conference about the interaction and competition between OEMs, airline MROs and independent MROs.Antonio Vazquez, chairman of Iberia Airlines and the International Airlines Group, told conference attendees that last year the MRO marketshare broke down to OEMs capturing 42%, airline MROs winning 49% and independent MROs logging 9%. He dissected the OEM marketshare into component, engine and airframe maintenance, and as I am sure you can imagine, OEMs take the largest share in engines, followed by components.
