AAR signed a letter of intent to lease 152,000 sq. ft. of the former Northwest Airlines hangar in Duluth, Minn., The facility is 188,000 sq. ft. and at full capacity could accommodate four lines of maintenance.AAR hopes to open the facility this summer and initially staff it with 15-20 current employees and local contractors. The company says it has been looking for a facility for the past year. Could the timing have anything to do with potential Air Canada and American Airlines airframe work coming to the market?
