Here's the new lightweight, fuel-saving seat being installed on SAS' fleet of Boeing 737-800s.SAS today announced that it has ordered the new lightweight Recaro seats for its short haul fleet. Next year, eight of the airline's Boeing 737-800s will be fitted with the new seats - 181 seats on each aircraft - with the rest being installed the following year. Passengers get more legroom and SAS will benefit from the fuel saving - after the retrofit each aircraft will weigh 360 kilos less than the current weight.
