Operators of helicopters with a Spectrolab Nightsun XP searchlight or Bombardier DHC-8 series aircraft should be aware of new urgent airworthiness directives that the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia issued today. August AB139 and AW139, Eurocopter BK 117, Eurocopter EC 135, and Sikorsky S-92 helicopter operators must inspect and possibly remove the searchlight by Aug. 31 (EASA issued the emergency AD Aug. 27) . DHC-8 operators must inspect the four nacelle attachment fittings for cracking by Sept. 10. (Transport Canada originally issued the AD Aug. 27.)
