AAR has bagged a five-year deal to do heavy checks and unscheduled maintenance for Allegiant Air's 46-plane MD-80 fleet. Scheduled maintenance will be done at AAR's MRO facilities in Miami and Oklahoma City, while unscheduled services will be handed out of Indianapolis, AAR said. The deal signals Allegiant's satisfaction with AAR's work; the MRO has been under contract to do work on six of the carrier's MD-80s since October 2008.
