My colleague Robert Wall in London has an update on the EU's airline no-fly list: two Ghanian airlines. AWIN subscribers can read the story here. The addition, as he notes, is "unusual" because it falls outside the EU's regular schedule for updating the blacklist. One of the carriers, Airlift International, still can operate one aircraft into the EU, the EC statement says. The European Commission said inspections in an EU member state produced results below international standards. The EC says it decided to ban the other carrier, Meridian Airlines, after inspecting its aircraft and facilities it uses in the EU. You can find the full, up-to-date list of carriers banned from operating in the EU here.
