For those of you avionics buffs, Arinc just posted the holiday issue of its Plane Talk newsletter. You can download the PDF version here
In this issue, look for valuable information on the 2012 Avionics Maintenance Conference, which will take place at the Anchorage Hilton from April 30 to May 3, 2012. You can also read AMC Vice Chairman Marijan Jozic’s great article about the impact of the Boeing 787 on LRUs and read announcements from working groups.
The steering group is looking to attract new avionics shops that have not participated in the conference as well as the usual suspects. Last year's AMC in Memphis brought in close to 800 attendees representing 44 airines, six airframe manufacturers and 175 avionics suppliers.
Are you having a mysterious, unsettling, annoying or costly maintenance issue with your avionics that you want to find an answer to? Be sure to submit it to the steering group as a discussion item here
so that it can get on the agenda. One piece of advice: include pictures of the components, fault reading information and any other important details along with the submission. Last year the community really seemed to appreciate what they could see visually, and those topics generated some of the most interesting discussions.
