The Advanced Military Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Center (AMMROC) in the Persian Gulf was designed to create jobs for Emirati citizens and provide MRO to the region’s military fleets. It has just partnered with Lockheed on an investment in the project. Lockheed joins an AMMROC shareholder group that includes Sikorsky and majority owner, ADAT. Total investment in the center now exceeds US $800 million (Dh 2.93 billion).

AMMROC services 450 planes and helicopters owned by the UAE Armed Forces.  It is part of Mubadala Aerospace's goal to develop a domestic aerospace industry through a cluster of businesses based in Al Ain.  Mubadala Development is an investment company owned by the Abu Dhabi Government.
