Emirates will be rolling out an upgrade of its onboard technology across the Airbus A380 fleet in the next two weeks. The airline says the multi-million dollar investment, which adds the new Graphical User Interface (GUI) developed by Panasonic, will also be retrofitted on most of its Boeing 777 fleet. Panasonic's new GUI is currently unique to Emirates and all new aircraft delivered to the airline will include the platform.The airline will also add larger screens in all classes on its new 777s - which will come into operation from May, as well as all new A380s. Some screenshots of the upgraded ICE system:The new ICE system is navigated by “swiping” or “scrolling” through the media library. Emirates President Tim Clark said: "We wanted to bring the same experience, look, and feel available on smart phones and tablets to our loyal customers in an aircraft environment.”
