AviancaTaca's subsidiary Tampa Cargo is poised to be the first Airbus A330-200 freight operator in Latin America, and Rolls-Royce will provide the power for these aircraft.

Rolls-Royce will supply Trent 700 engines for Tampa's four Airbus A330-200Fs, which will start service by the end of 2012, according to the freight operator's Web site. The engine manufacturer also pinned down a deal to offer its TotalCare engine services and support to AviancaTaca.

AviancaTaca currently operates seven Trent 700-powered Airbus A330s and expects three more deliveries next year.
