  • NTSB Sending Team to Aid Qantas Accident Investigation
Posted by Frank Jackman 3:16 PM on Jul 25, 2008

NTSB said this morning that it is sending a team to Manila to assist in the investigation of today's accident involving a Qantas 747-400. The aircraft made an emergency landing in Manila after a loud bang was heard and the passenger cabin depressurized in flight. Upon landing, a five-foot hole was discovered in the fuselage. The flight was bound from Hong Kong to Melbourne. There were no injuries reported. Both BBC.com and CNN.com have video footage of the situation inside the cabin before landing.
