Apparently not satisfied with the Senate's seemingly over-the-top foreign repair station inspection language included in the version of its reauthorization bill unveiled yesterday, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) released her own version of the bill (S. 1454).
It includes even tougher language than that found in the other Senate and House bills--language that has already stirred the pot across the pond. Highlights include a call for two annual inspections, including least one "unannounced" visit, and drug and alcohol testing partout, per U.S. DOT rules, prevailing national laws be damned.
