Tomorrow AAR will announce details at NBAA about its new Sikorsky S-92 helicopter interior, including that it received FAA certification and delivered the first one. Before I give you a few details, let me back up. Two years ago, AAR signed an agreement with Sikorsky to expand their relationship to develop mutually beneficial products. AAR has been making a patient, but deliberate drive, to extend its manufacturing capabilities, such as cargo systems, and saw this as an opportunity to expand its composite assemblies portfolio. Back to tomorrow: AAR’s Off Shore Airliner S-92 interior, designed and manufactured by the company’s Clearwater, Fla. Team, includes lower cabin noise, lower weight components such as LED lights, and easier access to maintenance points.
