As United emerged from bankruptcy earlier in this decade it contracted out much of its airframe heavy maintenance work on five-year contracts. Those contracts will be coming to the ends of their original terms over the next several months. For example, the 50th United Boeing 777 to undergo heavy maintenance at Ameco Beijing was inducted into the MRO's facility last week. Three more are scheduled for work before the end of the year. When Ameco Beijing landed its five-year 777 contract from United in 2005, it was the largest contract in Chinese aviation at the time.
