A discussion thread that weaves through conversations here at Aviation Week's MRO IT Forum is the importance of making sure IT and business operations work together and understand what advancement really needs to occur. While it sounds simple, a new IT system that looks great and provides lots more functionality will not be accepted by mechanics on the floor who would prefer an existing system that accomplishes what athey need with one click of a button instead of a new system that requires eight clicks.
