Will 2012 be the year of parts and supply chain company acquisitions? Today Lufthansa Technik, the majority shareholder of AirLiance Materials, announced it purchased the remaining shares (from United Airlines and Air Canada) to be able to help the parts provider expand its global reach. It's also interesting to note that AeroTurbine, which ILFC purchased last year, announced its first big deal since the acquisition: It will provide CFM56-5B engine LRU pool access for Czech Airlines, Holidays Czech Airlines and other third-party customers of Czech Airlines Technics.The parts pool might, muscle and maneuverability is something to watch.
