For those of you who have last night's Oscars on your mind, and want to don black-tie attire, there are still a few tickets to the Laureates Awards. The prestigious event honors luminaries from around the world in aeronautics/propulsion, business/general aviation, air transport, defense, IT/electronics, MRO, space, workforce, lifetime achievement and heroism. This year will be the first time Aviation Week holds the expanded event in the National Building Museum, which is one of my favorite edifices in Washington. The Great Hall is really gorgeous. Yours truly will be presenting the MRO award. Who do you think will receive it? Here is a list of the finalists. And if you’re wondering, no, I haven’t received the Oscar-like envelope with the winner’s name yet. I hope to see you there! It starts at 6 pm.
