While aircraft generate more data today, which could improve performance and reduce maintenance, lots of the systems don't connect and talk to each other. Overhaul & Maintenance's May cover story is on data performance and how it could be better utilized. "There are big choices in the next 3-5 years," says Peter Feldmann, a Cavok VP. "We are data rich but knowledge poor."It seems there's a business opportunity for companies, big and small, to apply this data and incorporate more predictive analytics. Safran Electronics Asia, a joint venture between SIA Engineering Co. and Sagem (a Safran company), opened an avionics facility in Singapore last month and stated, "With the increasing trend of new aircraft adopting digital technology, the joint venture is poised to tap the growing avionics MRO market."What's your company doing?
