FAA is in the process of updating its Airworthiness Directives Manual, making nearly an alphabet's worth (A-W) of what it dubs "significant changes," including new chapters that agency employees can reference on resolving issues and monitoring AD timeliness. It also talks about why so many more service bulletins are ending up in the electronic docket management system as part of the NPRM-to-AD process. A draft of the new manual (.doc) is out for public review and comment. Feedback is due by October 26--check this link for instructions on where to direct it.
