The joint venture between Air France KLM E&M and Safran’s Aircelle, Aerostructures Middle East Services (AMES), is expanding its nacelle repair capabilities in Dubai. The MRO will add service capabilities for CFM56 nacelles on Boeing 737s and broaden its on-wing support for various engine nacelle types. AMES already handles nacelles for GP7200, GE90, Trent 500/700 and CFM56 engines for the A320 family. Marshall Aerospace has started maintenance and an avionics modification on the first of three Hercules C-130Ks for the Australian Air Force. The avionics mod will overcome operational restrictions in European airspace. Romania’s Aerostar says it will carry out C checks on three Pegasus Airlines Boeing 737s and a D01 check on a Royal Air Maroc 737 at its heavy maintenance facility in Bacau. Sabena technics’ VIP completion team will carry out a cabin modification on an Airbus A319 for an undisclosed Asian customer.
