EASA reports that several Airbus A330 trimmable horizontal stabilizer support struts at frame 91 have cracked at the end, which could jeopardize the horizontal tail plane if not corrected. This AD (2013-0076), effective April 3, requires detailed inspections of all eight strut ends of the trimmable horizontal stabilizer in the tail cone--and if problems are found--replacement of those struts. "This AD is considered an interim action, pending development of a terminating action," says EASA in the AD. Please also note that EASA wants your feedback via this questionnaire on how to improve its safety information publications--including airworthiness directives and alternative methods of compliance. I'd encourage you to fill out this survey that will take less than 10 minutes.
