    When writing my story about finding aircraft parts on the internet for the Sept. issue of Overhaul & Maintenance, I noticed something right away: Online parts marketplaces are extremely competitive with each other. I mean, it makes sense – you have lots of companies selling similar items to virtually the same customer base, and that alone can make it difficult for any company to differentiate its offerings enough to gain market share. But where do maintenance capabilities fit into the equation for these parts that will eventually need repair or overhaul?

    A tweet from @DeltaTechOpsMRO this afternoon about its new online capabilities catalog allows customers to come to them directly for all of their repair needs. One-stop shopping, if you will.

    The new catalog uses drop-down windows in an intuitive layout that allows customers to find exactly what kinds of repair capabilities they need Delta TechOps to provide. Users of the search tool start by looking for parts based on number, OEM and even the engine and aircraft types they fit into. Here I searched for Hamilton Sundstrand products on the Boeing 737NG.

    Just input your information, press “go” and collect your parts. Delta TechOps can then send you a quote for how much the maintenance will cost and even tell you if that particular part has a comprehensive maintenance program.

    I don’t have a job that requires me to buy aircraft parts every day, but I know that some of you readers do. What do you think of Delta’s new tool?
