  • IAM Opens Negotiations With Hawker Beechcraft, Cessna

    Despite its initial concerns about receiving little benefit from opening negotiations with Hawker Beechcraft, the International Association of Machinists (IAM) is returning to the bargaining table, reports The Weekly of Business Aviation (subscribers only). “We have decided the consequences of inaction would be grim, drastically affecting the employment levels and the future of the Wichita operations,” IAM officials told members Friday.

    Aviation Week's Senior Editor of Technology, Graham Warwick, reports on the latest under FAA's automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) infrastructure deployment program in Business and Commercial Aviation's Ops & Safety NextGen special.

    The Wichita Eagle reports that the International Association of Machinists will open contract negotiations with management at Cessna Aircraft.  Priorities for the union include job security, health care and pensions.
