At last night's Salute to Excellence dinner, HAI president Matt Zuccaro presented an honorary lifetime membership to Sergei Sikorsky, son of helicopter pioneer Igor Sikorsky, who founded the company bearing his name. For years, Sergei has served as a kind of roving ambassador for the helicopter community, advancing the idea of the helicopter as a humanitarian aircraft, in accordance with his father's ideals. Zuccaro lauded Sikorsky as a man who "consistenly promot[ed] the helicopter and its value to mankind."
