Signature Flight Support has unveiled its plans for a “one-stop shop” FBO for the Olympics in London next year. With slots constrained and in short supply at airports in the southeast of England for a period of several weeks around the games, Signature is aiming to make things easier for visitors arriving on business jets. The offering includes arranging slots, ground handling, ground transportation, fuel and other FBO services at Signature’s FBOs at Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton, as well as at three more airports in the London area, says Joe Gibney, managing director for Signature’s Europe, Middle East and Africa operations. Signature has established partnerships with “several” other airports in the area for this offering, Gibney says.Authorities estimate that 1,500 business aircraft will be arriving in London for all or part of the Olympics period, and 42 airports will be slot controlled. Slots will become available from November. What sets this offering apart, Gibney says, is that it is all-inclusive. “Despite the complexity, one phone call to Signature will take care of all operations,” he says.Separately, Signature’s recently acquired Frankfurt FBO got its operating license last week. The company expects to incorporate the FBO into its network shortly, says president Michael Scheeringa.
