December proved to be a busy month for three OEMs. Bombardier, Embraer and AgustaWesltand all came bearing news (and photos) during the holiday season. AgustaWestland’s first prototype of the AW189 twin-engine helicopter performed its first flight in Varese, Italy on 22 December. The next day, Embraer rolled out its first Legacy 500 test aircraft at the factory in Sao Jose dos Campos. First flight is expected in the third quarter of 2012. Meanwhile, Bombardier announced that an undisclosed customer has placed a firm order for five Challenger 850 jets, at a list price of $156 million.So what's ahead for 2012? A lot. Here a sample of what we here at the Business Aviation Now blog will keep an eye on: deliveries should start ramping up again, even if slowly, after several years of decline; business aviation will be much in focus during the London Olympics in July, and the first Gulfstream G650 deliveries should take place.
