PiperJet Altaire Mockup Debut
The Shanghai International Business Aviation Show, held at Hongqiao airport earlier this month, attracted a very strong turnout of exhibitors -- just about all the big business aircraft builders. The only major absences seemed to be Embraer and Airbus. (My apologies to anyone whom I did not notice was not there.)The exhibitors whom I spoke to seemed pretty satisfied with their decision to exhibit, including flying in so many aircraft. The crowds were not big, but business aircraft buyers do not normally go around in crowds, not even in China. And, besides, no one was really expecting to sell an aircraft on the spot. The obvious reason for the strength of this new show was the great hope that the business aircraft industry is pinning on China.PICTURE CREDIT: BRADLEY PERRETT/AVIATION WEEK
