  • JSF Wins Election In Canada...
Posted by Robert Wall 11:38 AM on May 03, 2011

...okay, the headline may be overstating the case, but the May 2 general election that has brought the Conservatives to power is good news for the Lockheed Martin F-35 program.

Stephen Harper has been pushing for the F-35 purchase, despite opposition in the country. As Ares reported here, the F-35 controversy had its hand in causing the elections, by helping bring down the government at the time.

With Harper now in such a strong political position -- with his party controlling a majority of seats in the legislature -- it seems unlikely he will feel compelled to back off his commitment to the program.
