European missile house MBDA and India’s Bharat Dynamics are continuing to cosy up to one another, as New Delhi further bolsters and refurbishes its tactical missile arsenal.
The two companies have signed a contract further extending Bharat Dynamics production of the Milan family of anti-armor missiles for at least the next four years. The Indian manufacturer has already churned out over 30,000 rounds of various Milan models, since the initial license agreement going back to the early 1980s.
MBDA and Bharat Dymanics concluded a “strategic” memorandum of understanding in 2003. The two companies are also proposing the Maitri surface to air missile system to meet Indian military requirements.
