MBDA is getting ready to unveil its latest idea for a future weapon: an anti-ship missile that could effectively serve as an Exocet replacement.(Rendering: MBDA) The system is part of the Concept Weapons program MBDA has previously unveiled, in which it unleashes engineers to consider what the art of the possible might be. The last roll out was of an ultralight infantry weapon. The concepts developed under this initiative are not tied to a specific requirement, nor are they necessarily a design that MBDA will pursue in development. Still, the concepts provide a glimpse of what a future missile might look like. Perseus, as the anti-ship missile concept shown above is called, has clear low-observability features.But the weapon has many other features that make it stand out.
