A Swedish air force Gripen fighter suffered a runway excursion at the Ronneby air base. The JAS-39C belongs to F17 squadron. The incident occured around 2 p.m. local time. Rescue personnel had to extinguish a small fire. The pilot escaped largely unhurt, except for dented pride, especially since Swedish authorities say that an initial review suggest the accident was caused by pilot error. A full investigation has been launched. [Credit: Swedish air force]
