Announced by Selex ES today at DSEi, the 31 July agreement covers support to MONUSCO for information gathering/surveillance operations with Falco medium altitude, medium endurance UAVs, ground control stations, support equipment and logistics for three years with an option for two more. It includes the deployment by Selex ES of pilots and maintenance engineers.

It is the first UN contract with a civilian operator to provide UAV technology to support a humanitarian mission, according to Selex ES.
