Here a quick follow-up on an item that your correspondent, Alon Ben-David, provided a few weeks ago on an upgrade Elbit Systems has been working on to improve data fusion on modern fighters by enhancing the way information is presented to a pilot in the cockpit of a 4th generation fighter.Elbit has now unveiled the implementation on the F-16. Here's a picture of the new display system, which should undergo flight trials this year:[credit: IDF]The large display is to improve sensor fusion and also pilot situation awareness.Elbit also has been in talks with Boeing about offering the new device.
