The NATO Patriot deployment to Turkey reached its initial operational capability on 26 January. The Dutch Ministry of Defense announced that both Patriot batteries it deployed to Adana airport are operational. The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) Patriots are equipped with both PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles. The RNLAF tactical command system is based at Incirlik air base. Adana has a population of a million and is 120 kilometers from the Syrian border. The four other batteries -- two German batteries in Kahramanmaras and two U.S. batteries in Gaziantep -- will become operational by the end of the month. The Dutch Ministry of Defense has produced a video on the RNLAF Patriot deployment. RNLAF photos
