Ground crews from Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the U.K. practiced recovering immobilised aircraft, three retired French air force C-160s. After a first day of familiarization, teams took turns practicing scenarios for an aircraft landing without deploying its nosewheel, getting stuck in the mud, and after a belly landing. Their task was made more difficult by heavy rain before the event.
