The first IM-400 integrated mast housing has arrived at the Thales plant in Hengelo for testing, the company announced. The integrated mast accommodates all major radars, sensors and antennas of a naval vessel and will be installed in the Holland class Ocean Patrol Vessel (OPV) being built for the Royal Netherlands Navy.The mast was built by the Royal Netherlands Navy in Den Helder, from where it was transported by barge. It was hoisted on top of the test tower at the Thales plant in Hengelo. Over the next few months, all equipment will be installed in the integrated mast structure for testing. Then, the IM-400 will be transported to the Damen De Schelde Shipyard in Flushing, where it will be installed on the first Holland class OPV.Four IM-400 systems will be built for the four Holland class OPVs. A fifth IM-400 will be built for the Karel Doorman joint logistic support ship also under construction for the Royal Netherlands Navy.
