The Italian operational reserve force (ORF) of NATO's Kosovo Force will be relieved on 1 October by an Austro-German force. Some 550 German and 150 Austrian troops will deploy to Kosovo in September. These units received training in patrolling, check points, and crowd and riot control between the end of 2011 and early summer 2012, and the Austro-German staff practiced joint planning and decision-making.
