  • Flight Without Flaps -- UK's Demon UAV

    Over on Aviation Week's technology blog Leading Edge, we have video of the first "flapless flight" by the Demon unmanned research aircraft developed by Cranfield University, BAE Systems and a team of UK universities.

    The Demon can use fluidic flight controls instead of conventional aerodynamic surfaces for roll control, and is part of a UK project to develop technologies for future maintenance-free low-cost UAVs.
