France is today finishing up trials to ready the Tiger reconnaissance and attack helicopter for ship-board deployment.
The drill, which began March 9, involved the French navy’s Mistral command and force protection ship (BPC) and a detachments from the French army’s 5thhelicopter combat regiment and technical support personnel. The government also had industry support from Eurocopter and Sagem.
The integration flights were conducted by a crew of a French army pilots and navy pilot. The trials have been taking place off the coast of Toulon.
The French military already has cleared the EC725 for operations from the BCP vessels last year. The next helo to undergo that phase is likely to be the NH90.
