The Royal Netherlands landing platform dock Hr. Ms. Rotterdam yesterday received spare parts for one of its two Cougar helicopters by airdrop.

The flagship of NATO Task Force 508 is operating off the Somali coast as part of the alliance's Operation Ocean Shield counterpiracy mission.

A Danish maritime patrol aircraft dropped a container containing the spare parts by parachute into the sea, where it was picked up by a rubber dingy from the Rotterdam. The resupply mission was the first of its kind for the Rotterdam, necessitated by the great expanses of its area of operations far away from a port where it would usually receive supplies
